  • Total Eclipse of the Sun
    Three engineers and a compliance manager headed to Ohio to experience totality. Despite over 200 collective years on the planet, this was a first for all of us. We managed to avoid both clouds and traffic by taking back roads into a quiet town and monitoring the cloud cover with Accuweather. We weren’t disappointed.
  • ⚑ Westinghouse Atom Smasher
    The Westinghouse Atom Smasher was an enormous Van de Graaf generator used for the first generation of nuclear research. Until 2015, seeing it from the highway as you drove through Forest Hills was a part of the Pittsburgh experience. In 2015 it was knocked over and the building torn down.
